Orange County backyards get plenty of use — and plenty of sun, especially in the inland communities like Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda, Orange, and Fullerton where summer afternoons run far hotter than the beach cities suggest. Whether your home is a mid-century ranch or a newer two-story, a custom aluminum patio cover turns a hot slab into the most-used space at the house.
JAM Construction Patios serves Orange County with the same deal we offer everywhere: the owners do the work. Samer Numan and Justin McDaniel are licensed California contractors who build every cover in-house — no subcontractors, no sales team. We are the builders, not salesmen, and it shows in the price.
Cover types and pricing (per square foot):
• Flat pan (non-insulated): $27/sq. ft. — full shade and rain protection
• Lattice: $29/sq. ft. — filtered light with a classic pergola look
• Insulated (IRP): $35/sq. ft. — foam-core comfort, quiet in the rain
Projects start at a $3,000 minimum. Electrical options: recessed lights $100 each, ceiling fan installation $200 (you supply the fan), GFCI outlets $150, post lights $150, and switches/dimmers $100.
Permit rules vary city by city across Orange County, and most cities require one for a patio cover. Our permit service is $600 plus city fees — we handle the drawings, submittal, and inspections so you never stand in line at city hall.
Do Orange County cities require permits for patio covers?
Most do for attached solid covers, and requirements differ by city. At your free estimate we'll tell you exactly what your city requires and what it costs — no guessing.
Do you really drive out from Riverside?
Yes — Orange County is a regular part of our service area. Your estimate and your build are done by the owners, same as our local jobs, and backed by the same 10-year craftsmanship warranty.
