Yucaipa is foothill country — apple-orchard roots, wide views, and neighborhoods like Chapman Heights full of newer homes on sunny, exposed lots. Between the summer heat and the wind that rolls through the pass, an uncovered Yucaipa patio is usable in the morning and not much after. A custom aluminum cover changes that math completely.
JAM Construction Patios builds covers throughout Yucaipa — and we're already in the neighborhood regularly, with work in nearby Redlands and Highland. Owners Samer Numan and Justin McDaniel are licensed California contractors who build every cover in-house. No subcontractors, no sales team; the people who give you the estimate show up with the tools.
Cover types and pricing (per square foot):
• Flat pan (non-insulated): $27/sq. ft. — full shade, rain protection, lowest cost
• Lattice: $29/sq. ft. — filtered light, bright and open
• Insulated (IRP): $35/sq. ft. — coolest, quietest, most finished look
Projects start at a $3,000 minimum. Finish the build with recessed lights ($100 each), a ceiling fan install ($200 — you supply the fan), GFCI outlets ($150), post lights ($150), or a switch/dimmer ($100).
Yucaipa requires permits for most patio covers. Our permit service is $600 plus city fees, and we handle the drawings, submittal, and inspections. If your community has an HOA, our standard styles and colors fit typical architectural guidelines.
Can a cover handle Yucaipa's wind?
Yes — when it's engineered and anchored properly. Our covers are built to code with footings and fastening suited to local wind conditions, and every build is backed by our 10-year craftsmanship warranty.
Insulated or lattice for a foothill backyard?
Insulated keeps you coolest through the long hot afternoons and quiets the rain. Lattice keeps things bright and open if you garden or want the pergola look. We'll price both at your estimate so you can compare.
